Justin Beaton | Bio
Growing up in the Midwest city of Racine, WI—nestled between Milwaukee and Chicago—purposeful storytelling has always been something Justin Beaton was quite fond of. “Hearing or watching something meaningful can bring you back in time to the place where you first listened to or saw it, where the memory you associate with it was created,” says Justin. “People will forget a lot of information throughout their lives, but they tend to remember that stuff. It’s a unique thing.”
Inspired as a youth after seeing The Power Team at his school (strength athletes who utilized an evangelical approach of attracting people to shows with their abilities and then telling them the Good News of Jesus Christ), Justin realized how powerfully influential purposeful artforms can be. It’s because of that, and a reverent sense of solemn responsibility, that he strives to bring about lasting content filled with hope and encouraging undertones in dealing with real-life issues that ultimately point people to the truth and hope of the Gospel—in a similar fashion as he once witnessed The Power Team do many years earlier. His work is clean and family-friendly as he wants to honor God and doesn’t want any demographic excluded; and it’s his faith in Jesus Christ that ultimately shapes his perspective on things: “God gave us the talents we hear and see all around us—they aren’t from us—therefore, it’s only right that we honor God by making sure any art we create ultimately points the listener or viewer back to Him: the Creator.”
Justin loves entertaining, making people laugh, and quality time spent with others (especially his wife and family)—but most of all, he hopes to communicate that he’s no better than anyone else and that the Lord is the only one worthy of worship and glory. He always wants to be known as the one who, in keeping with the advice his Dad once gave him, works the hardest, yet expects the least.
