Acting Philosophy

When auditioning for roles, the key is to pursue the relationship with the other actors, not the part, and the character dynamics will follow naturally. It’s a common complaint from casting directors that actors will attempt to infuse their character or the storyline into their lines, essentially making it merely a “performance.” The most captivating art, however, is when it mimics life—as in real, authentic relationships. This creates genuine chemistry.

Creative Expression

Creative expression is important. We create because we’re a reflection of our Creator—who created. The ability to sway emotions through art is a powerful but also dangerous responsibility. It is absolutely incumbent upon the artist to ensure that the work of art is influencing for good (directing the viewer/listener to God, aka glorifying/exalting God) and not negative (directing the viewer/listener to themselves, aka glorifying/exalting self).
